Amy Winehouse

Tributes and expressions of respect about the death of Amy Winehouse have been online, televised and printed since the heart breaking news that came in on Saturday.
I wanted to write this post, not to conform nor feeling of obligation but as a sentiment of respect and love for a truly beautiful and talented musician.
A trending conversation at the moment is people reacting to this news negatively. Yes Amy Winehouse was heavily into drink and drugs and this is what ended up killing her but with public figures like Russell Brand expressing their views and reminding people that addiction is a disease hopefully people can try and get a respectful amount of understanding.
Whatever people may view on drug related deaths it makes their passing no less important or heartbreaking for people that they touched the lives of.
I have tattoos of music lyrics and symbols, I have never met these people in my life but they have changed my life and people need to respect the incredible impact that Amy Winehouse has had and remember she is someones best friend and daughter.
RIP. x
