ABC night

So next week's Gobble is ABC night. For all you non Staffs students ABC night is a annual event that Staffordshire University hold. Each society/club etc are given a letter and they must chose something of that letter to dress up as.  For example I have heard on the grapevine that the LGBT society have the letter 'G' so they will be attending the event as Granny and Grandads.
What is fantastic about this event is the effort everyone always makes. I DJ-ed last year and the drama society came as a caterpillar. They were all linked and stayed like this for the whole evening which was so effective.
There is a prize for the best dressed group where they can win money towards their committee which is so helpful towards things like kits/trips they may wish to go on.

Gobble themes

Anyone that has come to Gobble will know each week is themed! Staffs students certainly know how to party and some of the outfits that have been created in the first semester were incredible.

Gobble

Gobble is still going strong, me and the lovely Scott have been working really hard to get the crowds in every week to the mid week student night at Staffordshire University.
It was decided earlier in the year that we would introduce themes to every week as all students love a good reason to dress up.
It has been confirmed that Gobble is on higher numbers from last year so me and Scott are incredibly proud of this. Every week the crowd that attend are so supportive and have so much fun.
Ive include some of me favorite Gobble pics, Staffordshire University students certainly make the effort when it comes to dressing up.

Gobble!!

Every week I think Gobble cant get any better. This week we did a traffic light party and we reached over 1300 people. I will never get over the intensity from a crowd of that vastness and each week is just a new and exciting mix of people. Next week is 'chav' night and its the first week I am actually dressing up...keep your eyes open for the pictures.

Now that freshers week is over I am able to tell you all about it.
As most people know I graduated this year but I've been very lucky to be able to continue the university night Gobble.

 Gobble is an amazing student night held at the LRV and myself and my fellow DJ buddy Scott Thomas play a diverse and varied eclectic type of music making sure we please everyone. We also host the infamous Gobble game which gets students doing a variety of games which mostly end up in nudity or sucking on a phallic shaped objects in order to win alcohol. (Drink aware)

The first Gobble was absolutely amazing, we had reached capacity by 11.45 which is a first in a long time and the audience were just so wonderfully responsive and up for a laugh.
The Wednesday just gone was a real test of time as me and Scott wanted to ensure that people didn't think that freshers Gobble was a one off and make sure that people knew we would deliver a fantastic night week in and week out.

Cops and Robbers themed there were some fantastic efforts and one guy even came as Robocop which definitely won the prize for originality.
You can find the list of all upcoming themes on the union website, next week is a traffic light party which is something I've wanted to do for ages! I'm hoping to begin some beautiful relationships or if not at least get a few people lucky ;)

Gobble!!

I had a dream about Gobble last night so thought id update you all!

For those who don't know myself and DJ Scott Thomas are the resident DJ's for Gobble which is Staffordshire University's number one student night!

At the end of my uni life I was slightly concerned I would be unable to continue my slot at Gobble but panic over I can confirm I will be returning come September! I am so so excited about getting back into it and smashing it!

Scott and I are looking forward to getting back and hopefully the image of 'the new gobble DJ's' will be gone and we have earned our respect with all the lovely party goers that are Staffordshire University students!
Not only will we bring you a great mix of music and witty banter (mainly Scott with the banter), We will be thinking of some inventive new games for all the freshers as well as pleasing all the second and third years!

I'm so sad to have finished university but I'm very thankful I can still get a weekly snippet of student life with Gobble!

I will keep you updated with the themes of the week.... oh yes themes are back and they are cracking and all the drink deals :) In the mean time don't forget to join the facebook page!

Handsome men....

In my last months of madness I was also really lucky to DJ with XFM DJ Dan O'Connell. As you can see on the heading of my blog there is a lovely little quote from him!

I was chosen to taken part in the SRA soundclash which gave student DJ's the opportunity to DJ alongside industry professional DJ's such as Greg James and of course Dan O'Connell.

Dan was lovely....it helped that he was a bit of a looker too.
I won the soundclash...I'm not putting myself down but with these kind of competitions I think i got it through default ...not that I'm going to complain!

The last few months have been insane.... I was lucky enough to DJ alongside Jo Whiley at Staffordshire Universities summer ball 2011. She was so lovely and me and my fellow DJ buddy Scott Thomas were very honored and proud to get this opportunity
