So Saturday was London Pride where I was chuffed to be asked to play at The Candy Bar.
As usual I get a bit nervous and doubtful of myself..... nearly 7 years DJ-ing you think this would fade!
There was a great crowd of people in the basement where id be DJ-ing and once I got myself settled i was away.
Anyone that know me will be aware that I'm not very technically minded and this was proved when I had to stick cables in ... and set up a mic for Laura from Vinyl Black Stilettos! As per expected I failed and the microphone was not set up, once it was all sorted and her performance started I stood there wanting to cry thinking 'wow you've well and truly buggered this up'.
Due to this I really had to pull the stops out, after her performance I opened with a big dance song and received a massive cheer! I got onto a roll and was so thankful that every song I played received an amazing reception. People were dancing, cheering and the atmosphere was electric!
After my slot people were so wonderful and this guy even wanted a picture with me....this was very bizarre and I get very awkward in these situations but never the less I was incredibly flattered.
I will be playing at The Candy Bar tonight and next Monday too so lets hope that this becomes a regular thing as its a great club and gets such a great crowd of girls.
