AMITY LIVE AT CANDY BAR

This Monday hosted the second live performance of the year at the LGBT student night BOUNCE.
I was really excited to book not only a friend of mine but an incredibly talented young lady.
AMITY has a beautiful folky, light indie/alternative feel to her her music and her use of various instruments makes her talent shine through.

She is a one women band using a loop pedal, harmonica plus other contraptions that give her that eclectic sound that it so important nowadays with the high competition in the music industry.

The venue Candy Bar is a lovely intimate venue and the audience buzzed of her performance which sounded fantastic with the acoustics of the area. People had travelled far and wide to see her and the loyalty that was so clearly there was really exciting for not only her but for the general atmosphere.

AMITY is gigging around the country from Brighton to Birmingham so you have no excuse to catch one of her shows. Check her out... you will not regret it.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Happy 2012 all!
New years eve was a good one.... exhausting but well worth it, there was a great crowd at Candy Bar and the atmosphere was electric.
Finishing uni was terrifying and I cannot express how thankful I am that things have taken off as they have and would like to thank everyone that has believed in me and given me chances.
2012 is going to be a good year I hope, I'm going to continue gigging and hopefully do a couple of festivals.... I got a big taster of it after Brighton Pride so gonna really push that.
My main new years resolution is to keep on top of this blog more!!- and I mean that!

FOLLOW ALERT!

Last week one of my bestest friends in the world wrote a beautiful article on her blog about me and urged people to follow me.... (she is now taking me to court for 10% of my earnings...but ill deal with her later ;).

I wanted to repay the favor and not just because I felt I had to or because I felt obliged- I genuinely believe that this is a fantastic blog that everyone needs to check out!
Not only does this person share an exceptional and rare passion for music she actually knows what she is talking about.
We met through our love and general 'I can not live without' frame of mind for music and we have certainly had some very interesting experiences together which will be brilliant autobiography material!

For all you music lovers please do check out this fantastic blog which is full of reviews, new bands, articles etc!
The lady has introduced me to so much music (both new and old) and I don't know what I'd do without those bands in my life now so let her do the same for you :)

Candy Bar 2/7/11

So Saturday was London Pride where I was chuffed to be asked to play at The Candy Bar.
As usual I get a bit nervous and doubtful of myself..... nearly 7 years DJ-ing you think this would fade!

There was a great crowd of people in the basement where id be DJ-ing and once I got myself settled i was away.
Anyone that know me will be aware that I'm not very technically minded and this was proved when I had to stick cables in ... and set up a mic for Laura from Vinyl Black Stilettos! As per expected I failed and the microphone was not set up, once it was all sorted and her performance started I stood there wanting to cry thinking 'wow you've well and truly buggered this up'.

Due to this I really had to pull the stops out, after her performance I opened with a big dance song and received a massive cheer! I got onto a roll and was so thankful that every song I played received an amazing reception. People were dancing, cheering and the atmosphere was electric!

After my slot people were so wonderful and this guy even wanted a picture with me....this was very bizarre and I get very awkward in these situations but never the less I was incredibly flattered.

I will be playing at The Candy Bar tonight and next Monday too so lets hope that this becomes a regular thing as its a great club and gets such a great crowd of girls.

100% babe

This Saturday I will be spinning the decks at 100% babe in London. Its one of London's premier lesbian nights and I'm really excited! I'm pretty nervous but I'm just crossing my fingers that the crowd will be nice and welcoming!

Ive got half and hour to impress all the girlies as well as set the bar high as I'm warming up for the beautiful Christina Novelli.

Its going to be a fantastic night so if you are around in London this Saturday do pop down and say hey! (also dance like made during my set)

A xx
