AMITY LIVE AT CANDY BAR

This Monday hosted the second live performance of the year at the LGBT student night BOUNCE.
I was really excited to book not only a friend of mine but an incredibly talented young lady.
AMITY has a beautiful folky, light indie/alternative feel to her her music and her use of various instruments makes her talent shine through.

She is a one women band using a loop pedal, harmonica plus other contraptions that give her that eclectic sound that it so important nowadays with the high competition in the music industry.

The venue Candy Bar is a lovely intimate venue and the audience buzzed of her performance which sounded fantastic with the acoustics of the area. People had travelled far and wide to see her and the loyalty that was so clearly there was really exciting for not only her but for the general atmosphere.

AMITY is gigging around the country from Brighton to Birmingham so you have no excuse to catch one of her shows. Check her out... you will not regret it.

Planet London

Planet London is a website dedicated to lesbian lifestyle.
It has got everything on there from listings to a LGBT families help and advice section. This is a fantastic website for all lesbian/bisexual/queer ladies.
I was very chuffed to have my DJ profile put on the DJ section. It has a great big picture of my face and a few questions. Please do check it out as well as having a browse on the website.

BOUNCE

Two weeks ago Candy Bar launched their first LGBT student night 'Bounce'.
I was so excited and flattered to be asked to be part of this because not only have I been a student for three years I also know my indie and alternative music pretty well and was so excited to be given the opportunity to bring a new and exciting sound to The Candy Bar.

The launch went wonderfully and people said such kind and positive things. Equipped not only with great music but the lovely Sandra Davenport had gathered a fantastic bunch of goody bags for everyone and the place was covered in lots of sweeties and goodies.
Tomorrow brings the third night which I am really excited for... the second event still had a fantastic group of people who are all really positive and supportive but after the launch night the second one is always going to be a slight anti climax.
The word about Bounce is spreading... its not going to happen over night but once people see what the night is about and see that we are here to stay. We want to have a night that caters for a taste of music usually held in the East London 'scene' and bring this to Soho.
Candy Bar have specifically mentioned that this night is LGBT. Candy Bar is for lesbians but all the GBT are more then welcome and personally I really hope we can see a great mixture of people coming down and enjoying themselves :)
